EarthCraft Awards Presented for Green Building Design and Construction

The 2013 EarthCraft Awards were presented by David Ellis, Executive Vice President of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, and Dennis Creech, Executive Director of Southface, in the company of over 100 green building design and construction industry leaders at Emory Point on October 30.

Developed in 1999 by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association and Southface, EarthCraft is the Southeast’s standard for green building - pairing building science with regional know-how. EarthCraft promotes energy efficient, healthy, comfortable and durable new construction and renovation.

The EarthCraft Awards are an integral component of the program. Rewarding builders that exceed standard program requirements brings recognition to program partners and helps advance innovation in the region’s green building industry. Developers, builders, architects, engineers, project managers, trade contractors and EarthCraft Technical Advisors are recognized for their commitment to advancing sustainable construction and providing healthy, comfortable and durable homes and workplaces.

The annual EarthCraft Celebration of Excellence provides a valuable networking opportunity for industry professionals to share best-practices, and program sponsors to promote the latest technology advancements and products available for the Southeast.  The EarthCraft program is sponsored by: Icynene, The Home Depot, Huber ZIP System, WaterFurnace Geothermal, Marvin/Integrity, Fi-Foil, Construction Resources, Inc. and Panasonic.

Dennis Creech, Southface Executive Director and Greater Atlanta HBA board member, said, “EarthCraft is a high performance building program, so all EarthCraft builders are a cut above. However, these projects represent exemplary attention to quality and performance. We salute our 2013 award winners and thank them for their commitment to EarthCraft and high performance housing and community design.”
